The first proper rain in ages has fallen in New Zealand as I set off to Wellington on my road trip down to Christchurch to give a talk.
Yesterday I met with some police officers involved in the dog section and we exchanged views and practices. They were open to my thoughts and could see a lot of sense in them. It was also good that the Amichien Bonding technique does not interfere with the training they do, rather enhances it. The sergeant however wasn't present as he had been dog training for 30 years and "Knew it all".
Too often the only obstacle to change is old habits and this is why not everyone uses our advice. We are all slaves to habit too and so I understand that problem. However, like learning to drive a car, a new skill can be hard at first but before you know it you get in your car and drive for miles without even thinking about it. I remember during my driving lessons honestly thinking I would be the only person in the world not to get this........ Good job I stuck with it as now I'm about to drive to the South Island and witness the majestic views it has to offer.
Cheers, Tony
PS Oh yes I did some filming over the weekend in Auckland for NZTV - they have a very successful cooking show called Food in a Minute...... we have just done 12 shows in the same vein about puppy training. Look out for these episodes on my website soon. I may become "World Famous in New Zealand" as they say over here......
